Interesting article from Matt Gelb of the Inquirer regarding Halladay and some mechanical fixes he’s been working on. Apparently, when he had pain in his shoulder he altered his delivery by lowering his arm angle. Also mentioned was Halladay’s decreased velocity, which Halladay predictably said didn’t concern him. Manuel mentioned they might sit Halladay once the games become even more meaningless than they now are, which surprised me a bit. Maybe the Phillies are more concerned about Hallady then they’ve let on. It would be nice to see Halladay bounce back next year for the team’s sake but also because he is such a good pitcher when he’s on that it’s fun to watch. Hopefully he can get the velocity back up a tick next year. He could still be probably effective where he is now probably if he can get his mechanics straightened out.
