Heh heh’s another piece on Eric Kratz, the Phillies back-up catcher extrordinaire. Sam Donellon also had a column about Kratz earlier that I posted about, so a second article is a bit redundant. Maybe David Murphy is too cool to read his own paper? His actually does go a bit more in depth than the first and it’s always nice to read about guys hungry to be in the big leagues. He’s had quite a journey getting to where he is now.

He also likes to end games by hugging the finishing pitcher. The other day it looked like  Papelbon (i think it was him) by surprise was a bit surprised by it. The hug tonight with Hamels was a bit awkward, but Hamels had nice things to say about Kratz after the game. Nothing wrong with hugs, but I guess the pitchers have to get used to it. Kratz really has done a good job this year.
