The Player To Be Named Later

I believe my Uncle Mark (a hopelessly deluded Mets fan) bought his wife, my aunt, a shirt to wear while she was pregnant that read: “player to be named later” with a Mets emblem. A really cool shirt minus the Mets part. Anyway, the player to be named later in the Blanton trade has been named and his name is Ryan O’Sullivan. You can see his stats here. He was just drafter last year, so there is not much to go on. According to the Daily News, he was a starter but is now a reliever. While his stats are decent, he does not strike many people out. Regardless, he is young and won’t make an impact (if at all) with the big-league team for quite some time.

Blanton has had a tough time out in La-La Land, giving up 14 runs in almost 16 innings and being thrown out of the game last night after arguing with the home plate umpire.
