Aumont Called Up

Phillippe Aumont has been called up to the Phillies while Jeremy Horst has been given paternity leave. Aumont is a reliever and was the centerpiece of the Cliff Lee trade to Seattle. He is a big tall guy who throws hard. Unfortunately, he has been inconsistent in the minors. You may recall that the Phillies tried to make him a starter when he first came here, but it was a major disaster, so he was placed back in the bullpen. He did well at AA, but has struggled somewhat at AAA this year. It would be important on a number of levels for Aumont to turn into a significant piece in the Phillies bullpen. Obviously, he will be here for just a few days and may not even get in a game. However, fans should be rooting for his success going forward. You can read more here.
