Minor League System Improves

I actually wrote something about this the other day, and here we have an Inquirer article about it. Several position players have had good seasons down on the farm. It’s a good, informative article about the highs and lows in the Phillies system. One scout is quoted as saying that the Phils’ system is better than any team in the East except the Nationals.

One player that has turned it around is third base prospect Maikel Franco who is only 19. He struggled to the start the year at Lakewood, but came on strong batting well over.300 in August to raise his overall average to around .270 with decent slugging numbers.

So this is encouraging, but it doesn’t necessarily give you a title over the next two years or so.
