Well, Welcome To The Big Leagues, Mr. Ruf

So the Phillies have called up their AA hitting phenom, Darin Ruf. It’s nice to see him, and he certainly deserved it after the season he had. His OPS in August was 1.382, according to CSNphilly.  I hope Charlie doesn’t play him in left because that’s not going to work. Hopefully he’ll be used to spell Howard when there is a lefty. It’s nice to see some younger players up that bring energy to the field. Perhaps that’s what has sparked this turn around. It also shows you don’t always need a high-priced player like Hunter Pence (although he wasn’t having a great year). Right now they are beating the Marlins in the 6th and Cy Kendrick had a no-hitter through 5. I still don’t think the Phillies can make a serious run at the last wild card spot, but they could make it interesting. I won’t take this seriously unless they go at least 5-1 against the Marlins and Astros.
