Stat of the Day

From Matt Gelb of the Inquirer:

In 107 2/3 innings since the all-star break, Lee has a 2.34 ERA with 102  strikeouts and eight walks.

Clearly, Cliff Lee still has it. At least for half a season. Hopefully he can pitch a full season like that again next year. And if Halladay was still Halladay, trading Lee might have been a good idea in the off season, but that’s not going to happen now. I think several teams, even with Lee’s salary, would have been interested in Lee with the second half he had.
