Here’s a neat article from CSNphilly.com regarding A-Rod. They basically ask various local baseball analysts if A-Rod would be worth pursuing in a trade. Some say yes, other say no. Apparently this is the first in a series of articles. I think the best answer was from Casey Feeney, the producer of the show Phillies Clubhouse:
“The Alex Rodriguez conversation is a symptom of the disease that has infiltrated much of the fan base and, to a certain extent, the Phillies’ front office. There has become so much concern about the proverbial ‘window closing’ on the Phillies’ core that many forget they will continue to play baseball after the 2014 season.
“Winning organizations develop a winning nucleus. Then, they develop the next winning nucleus. The Phillies would be better served using available resources to build their next core rather than propping up A-Rod to keep their window open.”
