The Phillies may have gotten lucky in the trade of Jim Thome when they picked up pitcher Kyle Simon from the Orioles. “Who?” you say? He was a starter in the minors for the O’s, but was converted to a reliever for the Phillies and did really well last year in high A and AA ball. He had an ERA of under 2 and in about 39 innings he only allowed 22 hits and six walks while striking out 35. He even likes the bullpen better.
