Fixing the Phillies

I will at some point post my ideas about the team, but for now here are David Murphy’s ideas. Some interesting things he writes is that the Mets and and Cubs have a lot less salary obligations than the Phillies and will therefore be able to outbid them. Murphy says the Phillies need power, but then also says that Ruf isn’t an everyday player. A competing blog made a good point that while Ruf strikes out a lot, over a season he projects to over 30 home runs, about what you can hope for Howard. Murphy also states the Phillies can’t have any untouchables (ecept for those that really are, because of no-trade clauses). I agree with that because that seems to be the best way to improve the team–a trade.
